Amanda Agazio received her Bachelor's in Biology and Secondary Science Education from Metropolitan State University of Denver. Her love of research began in the Rocky Mountains where she completed field work to study mountain goat behavior and high alpine black fly population dynamics. Amanda is currently a Doctoral Candidate in the Department of Immunology at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Her thesis work focuses on B cell biology and the antibody response against the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). More specifically, Amanda is trying to determine why the immune system does not produce a protective response against HIV and what can be done to improve this response. Following graduation, Amanda hopes to blend her love of science, teaching, and writing into a fulfilling career.
