Professional Education Series: Medical Monitoring and Treatment of Eating Disorders


Learn how to screen for and recognize eating disorders and disordered eating in your patients. Then learn how to treat eating disorders, monitor for medical stability, and address the long-term health repercussions of eating disorders.

About the Speaker:

Dr. Lana Ferris is a naturopathic doctor practicing in Vancouver, WA. She specializes in mental health, eating disorders, substance use, and transgender health. In her free time she enjoys hiking, biking, cooking, gardening, and spending time with her fiancée, their cat, and their two pet rats.

Dr. Ferris is a naturopathic doctor specializing in mental health, addiction medicine, transgender health, sleep, and eating disorders. She is passionate about meeting patients where they are at and is dedicated to providing a safe and welcoming space for everyone.

Dr. Ferris has completed multiple clinical rotations in mental health and addiction medicine with additional training in gender-affirming care, sleep medicine, and eating disorders. Her certifications include 100 hour Applied Kinesiology, Neuro-Emotional Technique, Cranio-sacral therapy, and she has training in Swedish massage techniques. She practices from a health at every size perspective and encourages healthy behaviors, not weight-loss.

In her free time she enjoys paddle-boarding, gardening, cooking, and playing with her cat. She lives in Vancouver with her fiancee.


1. Educatie providers on how to properly screen for, assess, and diagnose eating disorders.

2. Inform providers on how to monitor for medical stability in patients with eating disorders.

3. Educate providers on treatment options for eating disorders as well as treatment philosophies such as intuitive eating and HAES.

2 Continuing Education Credits will be administered for attending this training.
