Medical Detox in Washington State

Don’t take on withdrawal alone. Our experts make withdrawal as safe and comfortable as possible to prevent relapse during detox.

What Is Medical Detox?

Medical detox is a fundamental first step in treating addiction. During a medically supervised detox, the body removes the drugs and alcohol from its system, which can involve uncomfortable or dangerous withdrawal symptoms. Our medical team provides 24/7 supervision and treatment for symptoms to make detox as safe and comfortable as possible.

Is medical detox right for me?

If any of these apply to you, safely stopping may require medical detox. We are here to help.

  • I have tried stopping by myself before, and it didn’t work
  • I keep using drugs or alcohol to avoid feeling withdrawal symptoms
  • I have been using substances for a long time or in large amounts
  • I’m addicted to alcohol or benzodiazepines, where withdrawal symptoms can be fatal

What To Expect in Our Medical Detox Program

Before medical detox begins, we assess each patient’s drug and alcohol use, physical and mental state, and any co-occurring disorders to develop a comprehensive treatment plan.

My stay at the recovery village detox in Vancouver WA was excellent. All the staff there was excellent. I didn't expect to have such a good experience while dealing with something so difficult. I met some truly wonderful people who were there like me trying navigate some issues and take a step forward and continue our busy lives. The facility was very clean and comfortable, showers were great. Special shout out of appreciation to Neja, Shawna, Scott and Jakob I truly appreciated the extra kindness from you four. I recommend anyone in this area who truly wants to better themselves and needs the first step to recovery this is the place to go.

Their detox was very helpful for me. They were able to get me in fast and their detox center was clean and staffed by people who really cared about me. I have and will continue to recommend the detox to anyone who asks. This review is for the detox only not the residential.

FAQs About Medical Detox

How long is medical detox?

How long detox can take depends on the substance used, withdrawal symptoms and your physical health. Most clients complete the medically supervised detox period in 5–10 days.

Can I detox at home?

We do not recommend detoxing at home. Withdrawal can be uncomfortable and demotivating, leading to relapse. Alcohol and opioids, in particular, have withdrawal symptoms that can be fatal without immediate medical care.

Does medical detox work?

Yes, 24/7 medical supervision ensures your drug or alcohol detox is successful. However, detox is only the first step in addiction treatment; you will continue with additional treatment and counseling to continue your recovery journey.

Will I receive methadone, suboxone, etc., during detox?

The Recovery Village Ridgefield offers medication-assisted treatment (MAT) as medically appropriate. Your clinical team will determine your needs and eligibility for MAT.

How can I pay for medical detox?

Insurance may cover some or all of the cost of medical detox. Without insurance, The Recovery Village Ridgefield can discuss private payment options with you.

Will I lose my job if I attend medical detox?

Several laws are in place that protect employees when they attend detox and rehab.
