Patients who are enrolled in our residential or inpatient addiction rehab program will live at The Recovery Village at Ridgefield 24 hours a day. In the facility, they will be able to dedicate time specifically to healing.
In our residential program, you will be able to begin your recovery journey in a safe and stable environment along with others who understand what you are going through. With our low patient-to-staff ratio, you will be given more independent treatment than you may receive at other treatment centers.
What to Expect in Residential Rehab
After arrival, patients will immediately begin medically assisted detox if necessary. The substance you are currently addicted to will determine the length of the detox process. Alcohol detox, for example, typically lasts 7-10 days whereas detox for other substances can be anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. While this is typically an uncomfortable process, having supervision from medical professionals makes it much easier. After detox is complete, the real work of recovery can begin.
When you are going to residential alcohol rehab or drug rehab, it’s not a vacation. We don’t try to portray it as such, but we do know that starting your recovery journey is going to be a much easier process when you are in a comfortable environment. Patients can expect a comfortable bed, a private bathroom and many personal and warm touches throughout each patient’s room. Living areas are separated by gender as we do treat both women and men.
Throughout detox, each patient’s linens and clothing are laundered for them. Also, housekeepers will take care of the day-to-day cleaning. After detox, patients will clean up their own living spaces and have the option to use laundry facilities on site.
Three delicious, properly balanced meals are prepared by our private chef each day. We also will accommodate food restrictions and intolerances. For patients who also have eating disorders, specialized treatment will be given in this area.
We take a balanced, multidisciplinary approach to treatment, and each patient in residential rehab will have a variety of therapeutic methods. These are both traditional in nature and evidence-based methods. Patients will receive medical checkups, individual therapy and group therapy sessions throughout the week. Recreational therapies like music, art and sports therapy are also available and encouraged.
Wellness & Recreation
Living a balanced life involves activities that help you to stay physically and mentally fit. We have an onsite gym, yoga classes and a basketball court so that patients can stay fit throughout residential addiction rehab. Recreational activities like board games are also popular during treatment.
Is Residential Rehab Right for You?
Each patient that suffers from drug and/or alcohol addiction may require a different plan of treatment. While residential treatment is the best course of action for many patients, outpatient rehab is a better option for some patients. The only way you will be able to determine the best treatment option for you is to discuss your situation with an addiction specialist.
Residental drug or alcohol addiction treatment means care around the clock from addiction specialists and healthcare professionals. However, outpatient treatment also has a high level of structure. Patients who participate in our intensive outpatient programs or our partial hospitalization programs still have access to the same activities and highly trained staff as our residential patients.
